MERITUS PAYMENT SOLUTIONS NAMED FINALIST IN 2011 AMERICAN BUSINESS AWARDS
The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.
This year’s Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Monday, June 20 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than six-hundred executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The event will benefit Camfed (camfed.org), which fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa by educating girls and empowering women to become leaders of change. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network.
More than 2,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year. Meritus Payment Solutions is nominated in the Best New Company of the Year category.
Meritus Payment Solutions was founded on the promise that small-to-mid-sized companies would have a partner that understands their business and their unique payment processing needs. Backed by banks such as Well Fargo©, Royal Bank of Scotland©, and Harris Bank®, Meritus allows businesses to accept all payments including credit card, gift card, check, mobile, and more. Technology-driven and with a client-first mentality is what led Meritus to create a product that would allow companies to conduct business anywhere in the world. Internet-based payment gateway Payment XP gives merchants the ultimate flexibility for growth. Utilizing proprietary technology, Payment XP allows merchants to process all payments anywhere in the world on any device (computer, Blackberry®, etc.) with Internet access. The ability to conduct business within one platform is invaluable. Not only do businesses have one place to pinpoint success, loss, and potential, but Meritus is strategically positioned to prove its greatest value proposition as a true business partner. Today, Meritus is experiencing record growth. From its first operational day in 2009, Meritus has experienced hyper growth with a 150x increase in processing volume and more than 35x increase in customer base. During 2010, processing volume almost tripled and the Southern California headquarters doubled their employee headcount. 2011 looks to be equally, if not more, promising with processing volume already up more than 20% in the first quarter. Meritus is ready to shape the global payment processing industry.
Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. Stevie Award winners will be selected from among the Finalists in each category next week by members of 10 specialized final judging committees. More than 150 executives will have participated in judging this year. Details about The American Business Awards and the list of Finalists in all categories are available at www.stevieawards.com/aba.
